In version 3.0 the Unicode Character Database (UCD) has been expanded with additional characters and the set of non-Latin CAPs has been improved to better match those of other OpenType fonts. Thanks to these improvements and to the glyphs and feature enumerations provided by Adobe's font technologies, we were able to create a more strategic set of OpenType configurations that we think might prove valuable to flexo's many developers. Plus, we were able to close a few gaps.
One of these, the 'exaggerated prime symbols' or superscript, might appear to some as a 'super' version of other superscript designs. Our first impression of this idea was that we'd be adding a bunch of new characters to an already large set of OpenType features, and that perhaps we'd be adding a bunch of characters from the Latin Modern family of Modern capitals. It turns out that this is not the case. Exaggerated superscripts are rather easy to implement and use in certain situations; and nowadays, you can make caps look really funky when you want to.
This subset contains full typeface packages for Flexo, so all letters are perfectly aligned, all characters are capable of high-quality display, and no 'out of order' display occurs. All points used in the subset are in 2D configuration; and an interesting property of this subset is that smaller type face has been chosen for satisfying other design requirements. It was 7211a4ac4a
